Implementations & Upgrades

Our team has over 10 years of experience implementing core banking software packages at microfinance institutions around the globe.  We have also completed many successful Temenos T24 system upgrades, utilizing our deep knowledge of the various Temenos versions to guide our partner MFIs through the complexities of the upgrade process.  Our skilled implementation and upgrade team includes project managers, business analysts, developers and trainers who work with MFIs to ensure that requirements are met at a cost that is affordable to the microfinance sector.


Remote System Management

MicroPlanet offers several types of remote system management services to take the load off of the MFI’s local IT staff and ensure their system is fit for business at the beginning of each day.  Most of these operations take place after the MFI’s close of business, including running end-of-day processing, carrying out network and database optimization and backups, managing various house-cleaning and system monitoring tasks, and providing detailed reporting on how the system is running.


System Configuration & Customization

System requirements rarely stand still, and core banking systems are no exception.  Over time many MFIs find they need additional system configuration or customization to meet their growing and changing business.  Our broad experience and deep understanding of the software packages we support enables us to make necessary modifications and even customizations to accomplish our partners’ desired objectives.


Reporting

MicroPlanet can help MFIs get the most out of the valuable data that is locked within core banking software databases, allowing management to make key business decisions based on accurate and timely facts. We are experienced “data miners” and can develop reports and analytic tools to help translate raw data into relevant business information.


Software-as-a-Service (OMNIEnterprise)

MicroPlanet has negotiated a unique opportunity with Infrasoft Technologies to offer their core banking system OMNIEnterprise to MFIs under a software-as-a-service, or “SaaS” model.  This remotely hosted, pay-as-you-go model has significantly lower upfront costs because there are no upfront software licenses and little or no hardware to purchase.  This approach also has the added benefit of reducing the need for local technology personnel.  Most importantly, though, the primary value of this SaaS model is that we remotely manage the heavy technology burdens so the MFI can focus on its core operations; providing financial services to the poor.
